Karin's ESL PartyLand
Word Match
Level: Almost all
Preparation: 1 minute (Print this page. Cut
the table into cards. Bring to class and use.)
Directions: Instruct students not to look at each other's cards, but to
get up and figure out who their partner is. (This works best if you allow them to
discover the relationships between the words on their own.) Once all the pairs are
together, have students report their word combinations, explain any tricky ones, and move
on to your pair task.
Note: There are enough cards here for 28 students. Choose the ones you think will work best for your class or divide them into two sets and use the same idea for two different lessons.
