These Internet scavenger hunts
are for intermediate and advanced students. They can be done in pairs or
individually. Each lesson will take around 90 minutes. To use these scavenger
hunts, print the page and review the tasks with your students before bringing them to the
computer lab. Once there, students can come directly to Karin's ESL PartyLand.
(Clicking on the links from this site will result in new windows opening in their
browsers.)
Music-- This scavenger hunt will
teach students about the International Lyrics Server, MIDI karakoe, on-line music
quizzes, and more. Please note, the MIDI karakoe site requires QuickTime. If
your computers are not equipped with QuickTime, I recommend skipping this site rather than
having students download the program. (This Internet lesson was inspired by Charles
Kelly's ESL Treasure Hunt on
Music.)
Movies--A WWW activity in which
students learn how to use the International Movie Database, find scripts and screenplays,
and more. This lesson will take at least 60 minutes.
The News--This
Internet scavenger hunt will introduce students to USA Today On-line, teach them one way
to find newspapers on the WWW, and involve them in learning about current events at CNN
Interactive. |
